Have you ever worried that if you had a past life regression, you’d discover you were a Nazi in a past life? You aren’t alone. But guess what? Most people on the planet today are ordinary, every day, get up and go to work people – and the people on the planet 200, 500, 1,000 years ago were too. The odds are, you will find out that you were an average working Joe (or Jane).
But what if I WAS Hitler?!
Well, that kind of opens up a whole new can of worms. The quick answer is this: it’s okay. That doesn’t make you a bad person today. You may have brought with you the gift of being able to organize large groups of people to get them to do what you want. Now you get the amazing opportunity to use that to do so much good for the world. You go, New Adolf! Rock it! Balance all that horror from the old with stuff so good we can’t even imagine!
The tapestry of past lives, lessons and interactions with others, and soul contracts is so complex. Don’t judge yourself from the perspective of our human-ness where we can’t see the big picture. There is a meaning and a reason for everything that we can’t always see (and that often makes us really mad or really despair). And no, you aren’t going to be tortured to death in this life because of the last one. It’s alright. You’ll be fine. Just breathe.
What if something really bad happened to me?
So what if you were a Jew in that concentration camp instead of the Nazi doing the torture? That sounds too terrible to endure doesn’t it? I have to tell you though, we’ve ALL endured torture at one time or place or another. All of us. All. Of. Us. If your subconscious chooses to take you back to that life of torture, it’s because there is a deep need to understand something and let it go so that you can learn from it and how it is affecting your life today. It doesn’t have to be a bad experience though. We all watch movies or TV shows that have unpleasantness in them. You just have to remember that it’s not happening now and take a deep breath. Any Past Life Regressionist worth her (or his) salt knows how to pull you out of a horrific experience so that you can watch it and learn from it without being too upset by it. It’s like watching an old movie, or even remembering that car accident you had 15 or 20 years ago. It was so very scary then, but you don’t relive it in the same way when you think about it today. No worries.
What if I get stuck in that life and never come back?
That would be a really neat trick. Unfortunately it never happens. Ever. Here’s a little experiment you can use to prove this. Sit in a relaxed position and close your eyes (err… after you’re done reading this). Now think of your birthday from when you were 16.
- What were you doing?
- Did you go anywhere special?
- Did you have friends over for a party?
- Did you laugh?
- Did you cry?
- What happened?
Okay, now open your eyes.
Are you stuck in your sixteenth birthday?
I didn’t think so.
We can remember a past life using hypnosis to quiet the conscious mind so we can get to those memories. They happened a long time ago (or not, according to whether you’re talking to a quantum theorist, or scientist), so they’re kinda further down in there. But you choose to remember it, just like you chose to remember your birthday. Now, you might decide you want to dwell on that memory for a good long while, but eventually you move on to something more interesting to you at the moment and boom, you’re back. Your Regressionist is not going to let you “live” in there for more than a few minutes. We’ve got mad skills.
See? There’s nothing to be afraid of. The truth is, you’re more likely to see yourself as a Mother, a Father, a friend, a worker, a caregiver, and an average person. It’ll still be fascinating though. To see the clothing, the architecture, the interactions, the daily life of another time (that’s the anthropologist in me talking there) – how amazing is that? Plus you’ll learn a lesson about that life that applies to your life today. Won’t that be great? Do a little time travel, solve a problem or two. Awesome.
